Ur Mind

Your mind is the nucleus to your body. The word nucleus means “a central part or thing around which others are collected or an initial part meant to receive additions or a specialized, often central part of a cell, containing the genetic material. Wow, that is something. The brian was designed by God not to be just your thinking cap. But to be the command center for your body. It is the control tower for all of your limbs and organs. It tells you what to do. Without it your nothing, you cannot think, speak, move, or have emotion. The majority of our mere existence depends on our mind.

It is no wonder than, why the enemy is always trying to captivate the minds of people. If you allow your mind to become captivated by the things of this world then sooner or later you will subcome to those things. You will begin to be just what it is that your subjecting yourself to. That is why the word of God tells us to renew our mind daily, ” In other words, do not let yourselves be conformed to the standards of the ‘olam hazeh. Instead, keep letting yourselves be transformed by the renewing of your minds; so that you will know what God wants and will agree that what he wants is good, satisfying and able to succeed.” Romans 12:2 (Complete Jewish Bible). We are to subject ourselves to the things of God and not the world. We stay in God’s presence we do not have to concern ourselves with this world. For His word clearly tells us that we are in this world but not of this world. It is time that we understand that and believe it.

Things are beginning to happen now in this world at a more advanced and rapid pace. Children of young ages now know how to use hand guns and can use them to kill, thanks to various video games and toys. Others are masterminds in robbery due to trial and error or what they seen in the latest movie or rap video. Many of our youth are fascinated by witchcraft (Harry Potter or Twilight) and idolatry (American Idol). God clearly tells us that we are to not worship idol gods or partake or teach our children witchcraft. Exodus 20:3-4 tells us that we are to not have no other gods before him. That we are to not make any carved images or any other kind of representations of anything that is in heaven above, on the earth beneath or in the water below the shoreline. In Deuteronomy 18:9-13 it says that we are not to follow abominable practices One should not make his son or daughter pass through fire, a diviner, a soothsayer, an enchanter, a sorcerer, a spell-caster, a consulter of ghosts or spirits, or a necromancer. ADONAI is letting us know that He does not like these things and that they are not okay for us to partake in them because they are evil and not of Him. God’s word is true and he means what He says. One may argue that American Idol and Harry Potter are okay to watch because they are just entertainment. But I want you to check yourself for a moment and ask yourself these questions.

  1. Do I love God?
  2. Do I want to always abide by Gods commandments?
  3. Does the definition of Idol mean – image of a deity, etc., as an object of worship or object of excessive or supreme adulation?
  4. In Harry Potter is there not witch-craft? Do they not have a school that teaches children witchcraft?

If you have answered yes to these, then you should now understand why, not only are American Idol and Harry Potter displeasing to God but, many other shows, movies, and activities are also.

The enemy is here to do one thing and one thing only…kill, steal, and destroy. He does not care how he lures you into his web, only that you come in and get tangled in so he can take over. Its time for you to regain control over your mind and your life and be more mindful of the things you allow yourself to process. Become more mindful of the activities you partake in and who is participating in them. Be aware of what you allow yourself to hear and see. You are to guard your ear and eyegate. Not doing so can become costly.

Example, did you know that if you listen to the secular music that every spirit that is associated not only to the singer but to anyone associated with that song is now attached to you. Because you allowed it in. So now everyone that comes into your presence is now subjected to the same spirits you carry. Did you know that when you curse, even if it’s just one time, that you know have a spirit of cursing. Your cursing can cause another person to begin cursing because your spirits can be imparted to them.

You have given permission to these spirits to alter your behavior, to change the way you think and use in your daily life. It may have started off small but now you have the emotional want to continue in this sin, in efforts to fulfill your need of being pleased by such things. You want to hear the secular music because it makes you feel good, sad, happy, or mad. And you are drawn to it. Your cursing has now become every other word because now it is the only way you can express yourself effectively…or so you think. Your mind is telling your body that you are now dependent upon these things. But what if you worshipped and praised God and doing so made you happy… what if you danced for the Lord during worship service. What if you spoke life into someone else who was feeling down and it gave you the sense of joy that you have never felt before. Then again just like with the negative things, your mind will tell your body that you need those things to survive. Your natural instinct to serve God, live for him and be pleasing to him will take over. You will become a much happier and fulfilled person. You will begin to allow yourself to not get trapped into the deception of this world. You will begin to be the light on this earth that He has created you to be for His Kingdom.

God desires to have not just your heart but your mind also. If you give your mind to Him then all that is placed in your mind will be that of the Lord.

I dare you to give your mind to the Lord today!

Life Lesson #8

Know that your life does not belong to you. It is not even about you. It is about God and humanity. When you can grasp that God has created you to worship and praise him and to bring others to Him, then your life will not only be more meaningful but much more rewarding.

So when you pray, pray not only for yourself but remember to include others (not just your family either).

Say this prayer with me…

Heavenly Father, I pray that you will forgive and every member of my family and all of my friends for anything we have done wrong. Lord help me to forgive anyone who may have hurt me and help anyone that I may have hurt or upset to forgive me. Lord, help me to love others and do what you want me to do. Please come into my heart Lord, and wash my sins. Lord, help my family to be happy and love one another and not be sad or mad at each other. Dear Lord, please take care of my loved ones and protect and love them as they care for me. I thank you for this wonderful day. Please show my family how much You love them and that You will always be there for them. Teach us to always come to You in prayer. Lord, I pray that every member of my family and all of my friends and people in this world will accept You into their hearts so that they will not only go to heaven, but live the life on earth that You have offered for them to live. I pray that they will all allow Your will to be done in their lives. Lord God I ask that you give us Your wisdom to work in Your Kingdom according to your plan.  I pray that You teach us all our purpose in life and how to grow and cherish what You have blessed us with. Father God, I ask that you speak to each of us daily, embrace us daily, and walk with us daily. I thank you for all that You have done and will do in the future concerning our lives.

In Yeshua (Jesus) name I pray, Amen.

Fight Hunger

In January 2010 my family and ministry relocated to Houston, TX and upon arrival we were devastated to see the number of homeless people on the streets throughout the day. No matter the temperature, rain, or shine they where out side…without a safe place to call home and many without one meal to eat during the day. They stand on corner after corner seeking money, work, anything that will help change their present situation. They sleep and congregate under bridges which are nosey and dangerous. But to them that is home. Many have never even seen the inside of shelters. Some have made it to shelters but due to restrictions cannot be admitted . A local ministry, The Beacon, stated that there is approx. 10,000 homeless people living on the streets of Houston, TX on any given night. These are just those that have been accounted for. More than 3,000 of that 10,000 are considered chronically homeless and 25% of them are youth.

We are looking for the donation of a facility with a certifiable kitchen or catering truck/trailer where we can legally prepare meals to distribute to the homeless through our Fight Hunger program as well as, run our social service ministry. If this is something you would be interested in please contact me. We are a 501(c)(3) organization so there is a tax deduction available to any donation you make to us. If you personally are unable to aid us please be so kind as to pass the word along to someone you feel would be interested.

Thanks in advance for your support. For more detailed information about our ministry please feel free to visit our  website www.esamorservicioscristianos.com, online fundraiser: Fight Hunger  or contact Ari Flores directly at 832-688-8794 or email: ari_flores@esamorservicioscristianos.com
