Life Lesson #8

Know that your life does not belong to you. It is not even about you. It is about God and humanity. When you can grasp that God has created you to worship and praise him and to bring others to Him, then your life will not only be more meaningful but much more rewarding.

So when you pray, pray not only for yourself but remember to include others (not just your family either).

Say this prayer with me…

Heavenly Father, I pray that you will forgive and every member of my family and all of my friends for anything we have done wrong. Lord help me to forgive anyone who may have hurt me and help anyone that I may have hurt or upset to forgive me. Lord, help me to love others and do what you want me to do. Please come into my heart Lord, and wash my sins. Lord, help my family to be happy and love one another and not be sad or mad at each other. Dear Lord, please take care of my loved ones and protect and love them as they care for me. I thank you for this wonderful day. Please show my family how much You love them and that You will always be there for them. Teach us to always come to You in prayer. Lord, I pray that every member of my family and all of my friends and people in this world will accept You into their hearts so that they will not only go to heaven, but live the life on earth that You have offered for them to live. I pray that they will all allow Your will to be done in their lives. Lord God I ask that you give us Your wisdom to work in Your Kingdom according to your plan.  I pray that You teach us all our purpose in life and how to grow and cherish what You have blessed us with. Father God, I ask that you speak to each of us daily, embrace us daily, and walk with us daily. I thank you for all that You have done and will do in the future concerning our lives.

In Yeshua (Jesus) name I pray, Amen.

Fight Hunger

In January 2010 my family and ministry relocated to Houston, TX and upon arrival we were devastated to see the number of homeless people on the streets throughout the day. No matter the temperature, rain, or shine they where out side…without a safe place to call home and many without one meal to eat during the day. They stand on corner after corner seeking money, work, anything that will help change their present situation. They sleep and congregate under bridges which are nosey and dangerous. But to them that is home. Many have never even seen the inside of shelters. Some have made it to shelters but due to restrictions cannot be admitted . A local ministry, The Beacon, stated that there is approx. 10,000 homeless people living on the streets of Houston, TX on any given night. These are just those that have been accounted for. More than 3,000 of that 10,000 are considered chronically homeless and 25% of them are youth.

We are looking for the donation of a facility with a certifiable kitchen or catering truck/trailer where we can legally prepare meals to distribute to the homeless through our Fight Hunger program as well as, run our social service ministry. If this is something you would be interested in please contact me. We are a 501(c)(3) organization so there is a tax deduction available to any donation you make to us. If you personally are unable to aid us please be so kind as to pass the word along to someone you feel would be interested.

Thanks in advance for your support. For more detailed information about our ministry please feel free to visit our  website www.esamorservicioscristianos.com, online fundraiser: Fight Hunger  or contact Ari Flores directly at 832-688-8794 or email: ari_flores@esamorservicioscristianos.com

Many of us are living and professing to walk with God. We tell all how much we love Him and serve Him. Yet, still live in sin. How is that the same God we love is the same God that we often disobey. I know I know your thinking, I don’t disobey my God. But just think about it. If we are not living according to His word then we are disobeying Him. If you are still a women wearing revealing clothing, tight/short skirts and dresses, a man with sagging pants…then your disobeying Him. If you curse and speak ill words toward others then your disobeying Him. If you drink and smoke then your disobeying Him. And the one no one wants to hear…if you still jam to secular music then your disobeying Him.

STOP!!!

There is no getting around it, nor argument needed. Only time for education, correction, and to move forward.

Ephesians  5 hits it on the head. It begins in verse one with…So imitate God. (Ephesians 5:1) I love it. Now each of us knows that our God does not do any of the above that I just mentioned. So, then why are we. That is not imitating God in any way.

It continues to speak about sexual immorality, of any kind and how we are to not engage in it. We shouldn’t even speak of it…wow, that means those so-called funny conversations that you are having with ya home girl or home boy…ugt ugh, not supposed to be happening. Among you there should not even be mentioned sexual immorality, or any kind of impurity, or greed; these are utterly inappropriate for God’s holy people. Also out of place are obscenity and stupid talk or coarse language; instead, your should be giving thanks (Ephesians 5:3-4). Honestly, I think we all know what this means. A lot of our conversations we have on a daily basis should not even be a topic of discussion. Those sexual thoughts you have and actions you do should never even exist. During last weeks bible study my mother gave the perfect example for this verse. She said, “we are a royal people and are to live as such. We are to have such a high standard and regard about ourselves that certain things are not even of interest to us. That they not even be a thought of ours ever. Think of the Queen of England, do you honestly think that she would speak of such things. There are some things that just aren’t on your level and you don’t discuss them. Thats how we need to be as children of God.” Well said. Often times we can just be in general conversation and the there is a shift and your speaking about something you have business touching. I’ll give you a personal example…I was at working and a few co-workers fell ill. I was just recovering from the virus. So she and I had discussed what medications I took to get better etc., when a male co-worker walked up and stated, “I have the antidote.” Now my co-worker and I could have easily ignored me, told him not to speak to us that way but instead she replied “I only like white chocolate” and I stated ” I only like hot tamales” hahahaha right. Such funny innocent conversation between co-workers right? Wrong, Paul just explained that we were not to speak of such things. Now mind you, I didn’t learn of this until later in the week and when I did I repented because now I see the harm in it where before I did not. In actuality there is nothing funny about it at all, this is not general conversation this is the enemy filtering his way into your life. That one phrase opens up a door to another world that we really don’t want. It says to my male co-worker you may speak to me anyway you want and I’ll receive it. See had I of stopped him and informed him I don’t play in such a way he would have a higher level of respect for me and would not address me with any form of stupid or immoral talk. LESSON LEARNED. We may not all be perfect but it is up to us to strive for it daily. The only way to strive for something is to seek it daily. I don’t know about you but my desire is perfection. If I’m made in my Father’s image and I am to imitate Him, then I will be the best replica this world will gaze upon. You should want the same. Therefore I am mindful of my lifestyle and not that I wasn’t before but even more so because I was brought into a deeper understanding of how to live. With correction comes wisdom so become wise by reading your word and checking your lifestyle.

“Therefore, pay careful attention to how you conduct your life – live wisely not unwisely. Use your time well, for these are evil days. So don’t be foolish, but try to understand what the will of the Lord is. Don’t get drunk with wine, because it makes you lose control. Instead, keep on being filled with the Spirit – sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to each other; sing to the Lord and make music in your heart to him; always give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.” (Ephesians 5″ 15-20)

Love and blessings,

Ari
